Default Moving to Mobile/Gulf Shores, Al area

I accepted a job yesterday in the Mobile area. My fiancé and I have been looking for places to live on the east side of the bay. I don't know anyone but a great aunt in Fairhope. Does anyone live around the area? Any truck/race scene? Any heads up on the area?

Thanks in advance

I live in the north part of Mobile County (Saraland) and but have been around Mobile my whole life. The Fairhope side of the bay Daphne, Spanish Fort, Fairhope are a lot nicer than most of Mobile. West Mobile, out near the airport, is really nice. The racing scene is so so i have never really found a group of truck guys that hang out, mostly import and domestic car groups. The drag strip on Friday night is pretty popular. I know that was pretty broad but if you have any more questions ill do my best to answer!

Thanks for the info @ridnlow

I am like 40 min from the beach and you can see mobile bay from our apartment! Pretty pumped. We are moving all mine and my fiance's stuff in the day after Thanksgiving and I start Dec 5th.

We are in Spanish Fort. Where is Felix's?
Mitch...We have a beach volleyball qt. Just bring a sleeping bag. I dont mind if you stay out there!

EDIT: Found Felix's...Yes that place is off the chain!
