need a faster laptop what to buy
i need to make my laptop faster. i got it for school work and wasn't concerned at the time with it being fast. now i am using it for more stuff. what do i need.
here is what i have now
HARD DRIVE, 40G, 9.5, 5.4, TOSHIBA, PROTEUS, LEAD FREE
DUAL IN-LINE MEMORY MODULE, 256, 400, 32X64, 8K, 200, 512
PROCESSOR, 80536, CELERON M DOTHAN, 360, 1.4G, PLASTIC GRID ARRAY, C0
they have a 1gig memory for 130 bucks. either way i would like to make the computer faster. so what do i need to get.

What are you planning to do with it?? Graphics? Number crunching? A 1.4GHz Celeron is not a bad processor and a 40G HD isnt bad either but that 256K of Ram is killing you. Unless you are doing a lot of gameing or graphics stuff on it, I would suggest getting the 1G of RAM and seeing if that satisfies you.

ok, i'll try that. it's only 130 bucks from dell.
basically i hate how slow it is on bootup and going from application to application.
i know it will never be as fast as my house computer but a little more speed would be nice
