I second that John and you know I had the o-ring problem with my 5.3 when I did the h/c swap. Another way to check if that is the problem is pull the dipstick after driving it for a while and check for bubbles in the oil. Also, there are two different orings for two different pickup tubes. The lipped pickup tube uses the blue oring and the straight tube uses the green oring (or vice-versa) Do some checking and make sure you have the correct one in there.
