Subject: 1964 vs. 2007

Jack pulls into school parking lot with rifle in gun rack.

1964 - Vice Principal comes over, takes a look at Jack's rifle, goes to his
car and gets his to show Jack.

2007 - School goes into lock-down, FBI called, Jack hauled off to jail and
never sees his truck or gun again. Counselors called in for traumatized
students and teachers.

Scenario: Johnny and Mark get into a fist fight after school.

1964 - Crowd gathers. Mark wins Johnny and Mark shake hands and end up best friends Nobody goes to jail, nobody arrested, nobody expelled.

2007 - Police called, SWAT team arrives, arrests Johnny and Mark. Charge
them with assault, both expelled even though Johnny started it.

Scenario: Jeffrey won't be still in class, disrupts other students.

1964 - Jeffrey sent to office and given a good paddling by Principal. Sits
still in class.

2007 - Jeffrey given huge doses of Ritalin. Becomes a zombie. School gets
extra money from state because Jeffrey has a disability.

Scenario: Billy breaks a window in his father's car and his Dad gives him a
whipping.

1964 - Billy is more careful next time, grows up normal, goes to college,
and becomes a successful businessman.

2007 - Billy's Dad is arrested for child abuse. Billy removed to foster care
and joins a gang. Billy's sister is told by state psychologist that she
remembers being abused herself and their Dad goes to prison.

Scenario: Mark gets a headache and takes some headache medicine to school.

1964 - Mark shares headache medicine with Principal out on the smoking dock.

2007 - Police called, Mark expelled from school for drug violations. Car
searched for drugs and weapons.

Scenario: Pedro fails high school English.

1964: Pedro goes to summer school, passes English, goes to college.

2007: Pedro's cause is taken up by state democratic party. Newspaper
articles appear nationally explaining that teaching English as a requirement for graduation is racist. ACLU files class action lawsuit against state school system and Pedro's English teacher. English banned from core curriculum. Pedro given diploma anyway but ends up mowing lawns for a living because he can't speak English.

Scenario: Johnny takes apart leftover firecrackers from the 4th of July,
puts them in a model airplane paint bottle, blows up a red ant bed.

1964 - Ants die.

2007 - BATF, Homeland Security, FBI called. Johnny charged with domestic terrorism, FBI investigates parents, siblings removed from home, computers confiscated, Johnny's Dad goes on a terror watch list and is never allowed to fly again.

Scenario: Johnny falls while running during recess and scrapes his knee. He is found crying by his teacher, Mary. Mary, hugs him to comfort him.

1964 - In a short time Johnny feels better and goes on playing.

2007 - Mary is accused of being a sexual predator and loses her job. She
faces 3 years in State Prison

oh so true mark.... my grandfather and grandmaother kicked my *** if i did anything stupid.... and i would have it no other way.... i know the difference between right and wrong, and am willing to take responsability for my actions.....


and come hell or high water..... if i have kids they will be raised the same way.... even if i have to go to jail to do it.

Very True!!! Pisses me off everytime I think about it! Kids growing up today are pussies, parents can't or wont discipline, they hide behind idiotic laws, raised by Tv and video games, couldn't work a real man's job, think they're too good to work for a living, parents hand them everything just so they do not have to deal with them. Everyone is so quick to grab a gun instead of taking an *** whooping. Bad thing is, it's only going to get worse!

its amazing how quick things change. i aint but 19 and i remember when i was a little younger that kids used to get the hell beat out of them when they messed up. now most kids just get grounded for a couple days. for instance i know a guy from my town that is 2 or 3 years younger than me. he ran away from home for a week and a half then when he got back a few days later he got a DUI. i think it was the fallowing week he got a bran new mustang. hell if i ran away and got a DUI i would have gotten an *** whoopin and then probably kicked out of my house

I'll give my .02 on this subject. I'm 19 yrs old, raised in a military household now a firefighter/ EMT - Grandfather Full Colonel in Air Force 32yrs . Father grew up military kid and enforced the same rules on me that were enforced on him. I was fortunate enough to go to private school because my parents could afford it. Anyways, I have had my stupid moments as every one has but nothing serious...no run ins with police and what not. In my high school there were kids parents who owned hotel chains, cruise ships and invented micro processing chips...needless to say their kids were spoiled and had no limits on anything. Heres one example Jr year in High school kid gets a 04 HEMI RAM LOADED when he turns 16. Has it for a while and has EVERY BOLT ON and 24's on it. He goes out 2 a party , gets drunk drives home and flips his new truck on the bridge with 3 ppl in it. Recieves no tickets .. 3 weeks later gets a F150 Harley Davidson proceeds to mod it to the T. Kid shows up to next football game drinking a handle of captain while haulin *** in the parkin lot.. Blows my mind, and thats only one story
