Thinking of parting the truck out...
#61
I've had a host of other things come up too though. I actually had the credit card completely paid off (turbo and all) right before I sent my motor off to WCCH to be rebuilt. I haven't recovered from that yet, then I had some medical bills come up, went a little overboard with smaller things trying to get the truck back to 100%, then had some expenses to get the GTO where I want it right now. I think I'm about at the point where I can start making progress on the balance again. I should be able to get it below $5000 this month, and hopefully knock about $1000 a month off there in the future. Hoping to be debt free by my b-day in March

With parting everything out, selling the motor alone will get me debt free(more expenses then just truck ****) and if everything works out right then by June(time I plan to purchase the new truck) Ill have about 10K in my pocket plus what I sell the truck for, should make for a nice down payment and no payments every month to a credit card company or the credit union for my bike loan, then I can make double payments on the truck

I want a nice reliable truck that has a warranty when I get into a house so I have no out of pocket expense on a vehicle while I have the house. As soon as I get a house of course there will be all kinds of **** Ill need to buy for it. My plan is to get my truck paid off and the few things I want on the truck then start saving for a house. With everything paid off Ill have an extra 800-1000 of expendable income a month which should allow for saving up for a house fairly quick. If I get the new job I have been thinking about taking that will net me a 1500-2000 pay increase a month but I would have to move otherwise I would have already taken it.

I am in the same boat. trying to pay off debt now, leaving the truck on the back burner for a long time. about to have a baby boy in january and buy a house by april-ish and pay off a wedding loan(stupid mistake-shoulda flew to vegas) and a credit card. doing all of this with the really slow months at work coming up in january-march.

Don't sweat it.

Hey Cody... Sounds like you've made a good decision, although a little painful. I sit hear envious of most that are able to lay the $$ into their rides, but you know what I do have a mortgage, and I do have only 4 payments left on the Chariot.
Like AP said there are priorities to consider. And when you get that new yob, don't forget about dumping more into the 401k (suggestion).
