All of you guys need to get something and put between your windshield and the dash where your vin plate is... It is so easy to go to a dealer with a vin and get a key cut... they are supposed to make sure that people show proof of ownership, but you tell them all of that is locked inside the truck.... I have seen it alot.

KB sorry to hear about your truck!!!

YEP, It's pretty easy to get a key cut from the vin, the other solution is to change the key switch/door locks...
Damn KB, I'm sorry to hear about it. I know it doesn't help. It is amazing how violated you can feel when someone takes something away like this.... I hope the fugin thieves get what they deserve....

I appreciate everyone's support and suggestions for the future. So far it's been a very sucky process. I have yet to be called by the police about anything, I've been the one to call and inquire on the case number. Tomorrow I'll have a chance to speak to my insurance adjuster and see what happens next..This is all so foreign to me, so I have no idea what's going to happen next.

The suckiest part is my cousin put a lot of money into it in hopes of acquiring it before he moves up to the mainland from Honolulu. Now his investment is gone, and I can only hope it doesn't cause a rift between family members.

But anyway, thanks again for spreading the word.

hay that gave me an idea.
their are not too many dealerships around here.
they have to keep records on **** like this if a new key is ordered.
even if it is underhanded it still got to go through the steps of paprework.
kb i would grab my title and hit dealerships and see if any one of them did
a key for your vin.

If you want the truck back you will have to do the foot work yourself. Don't expect a detective to investigate the case because you don't have any leads for them. The best that you can hope for is that the plate number is randomly run one day and they recover it. I'm not trying to be a dick, I'm just being brutally honest. The police just have much bigger fish to fry.
