Default '03 RCSB Front Door Speaker Upgrade, $59

Just installed the 6.5 Cadence Components off eBay.

Great improvement for $60!

Next step, power them with an old ADS PH15 on the shelf with a DVC sub behind the seat.

The carnage:

Progressing:

More deadener tomorrow.

Surprisingly good bass response
Mid-Range Smooth
Tweeter is a little harsh if using the boosted setting on the crossover, I have them set flat.
The HU is obviously not ideal as a power source, so I expect the sound quality to improve drastically when they get a good clean 50W from the old ADS PH15.

And for $59?? I don't think there is a better choice.

Cool, how hard is it to hook up the crossover?

If you can get some spade terminals and a crimper...easy. Amp in, Out to Woofer, Out to Tweeter. Pretty basic stuff for a component set up.

I did Dynamat the entire doors today and I must say, having done Car Audio since 1990ish, these are the best bang for the buck out there. The bass response is amazing and the imaging with the tweets down behind the stock grilles is great. I used the Stadium Arcadium disc (no iPod HU yet) as a reference point. Very impressed!
