nope, no DVD playback other than the NAV DVD.

I believe it might be possible, but it won't be trivial and it won't be cheap. There are video-input kits available for these navs, I think JPCustoms sells one, but I believe they're something like $500. Then you'd need an audio input as well....I think either Soundgate, Pac-Audio, or PIE might make one:

This installation might be kind of "cheesy" though...i.e., you'll be flipping two switched (one video, one audio) to get it to switch to DVD mode. If you really want DVD playback, an AVIC-D2 or something in that genre would be a better solution.
