hello everyone, on my 05 2500 sierra the sunroof opens fine but when i go to close it it stops in the first position rigt before it gets ready to drop down in the roof. has anyone ever had this problem and if so whats goin on?? any help is appreciated

My 06 denali is doing the same thing, there is a tsb for it. I just got the parts today, maybe I can put them in tomorrow. It is a repair kit for both sunroof tracks. I'll try and get a copy of the tsb at work tomorrow and the PN# for the kit.

Mine is doing the same as well. The tracks are plastic and they break. I got mine to go down and unplugged the switch so no one can open it. Any info on the tsb would be great! Mines still under warrenty, so maybe I can get it replaced under warranty. I was going to buy the new lower assembly. It's under $200 from GM. I just don't like other people working on my stuff. a327vette, what does the repair kit contain? Like said, any extra info would be great!!

I only bought the guide kit, I have to pull it apart and see how many of the sunshade clips I need.

Condition
Some customers may comment that the sunroof jams when closing.

Cause




The sunshade clips may have come loose causing the sunroof to jam and break the guides. Refer to the illustration above.

Correction
•Remove the sunshade and the sunroof. Refer to the Roof sub-section of the Service Manual (SI Document ID #728815).




•Remove the Phillips screw from the small guide and set the guide aside. Refer to the illustration above.
•Remove the two retaining clips from the front and rear guide and set the arm aside.




•Pull upward on the arm assembly and move it outward. Refer to the illustration above.




•Pull upward on the end of the front guide and rotate outward to remove it from the track. Refer to the illustration above.
•Slide the rear guide rearward to remove.




•Replace the stop under the sunroof channel. Refer to the illustration above.
•Replace the guides on the sunshade. Refer to the illustration above.
