2000 chevy silverado audio/performance build
Hello My name is Chris, I have here a 2000 Chevy silverado single cab base model, 4.3L mostly stock, white in color, I'm currently working on my audio part of my build, i have so far installed this to my inside:
1 - 1X line-in to RCA converter
2 - 1X Audiobahn 2200HTC (overkill) (400 watts x 2 chan. @ 2 ohms)
3 - 2X Q-Power Black Mamba 12's (4 Ohm DVC 600 RMS)
4 - 1/0 G Ground wire, so big due to length i had to use.
5 - 1x 1200W amp hook up kit, 8G power wire, silver RCA's and 10 or 12G speaker wire (i cant remember the G of the wire)
6 - 1X black flush mount active LED remote switch (because of stock radio)
I also use my old phone with a Tape deck to receive my audio VIA Mp3 so i can have all my music at a touch of a finger.
Ive also built a custom piece of wood to fit under my back glass cause from my sub's and removing the plastic piece from under my window wrecked the tabs holding it in place, any idea to fix this would be helpful ill post pics for everyone to see and comment and give me ideas I'm open for anything i love to make my truck unique so please any ideas will be great!
Cosmetically nothing has been done besides decals and my front grille, it was stock with the grey line in the middle so i had to fix that, i took it off, painted it to look like the SS grille ( white and black) with the bow tie all black with the Monster Energy "M" in the middle of it, same on the tailgate it has no "Chevrolet" anymore just a large "M" for Monster.
as far as my next step, i shall look for a cd player, and for now im going to make it where my subs downfire in the position they are in, but during the time of newyears i will be making a custom console to house my two 12's along with (hopefully) 2 15's behind the seat, most think this cant be done in a single cab truck but its imagination and the right tools anything is possible!!!

Are you just going for overall loudness I guess?? If so just about the only way to get loud in a single cab is to run a single sub with a ton of power. I would not recommend running 2 12's and 2 15's. There is no way you will have enough airspace even if you get the subs to physically "fit" in the truck unless your planning on removing the passenger seat and building the box there.

The Toggle switch to turn my amp on, looks kind of ghetto, but the wires don't touch and it works, the first time i ran the wire through the firewall it shorted out and fried the coating of about 7 feet.
my ground cable, when I add multiple amps i will have a 1/0 to dual 4G splitter.
Side view of the whole cab, I now have the box turned upside down for better audio sound.
The board that i made to go under my back window.
My Audiobahn amp.
BlackMamba 12's
This 12, I had was dual 4Ohms, I had it set up to 2Ohms pushing 800RMS, This sub pounded the block down, however it only lasted a day, I fried the voice coils, so that was a $150 speaker wasted.
This was what I had in it before my 12's, its just a no name 10 inch in a ported box, it beat hard for what it was, a lot of people thought i had a 12 when it was hidden behind the seat.
This is the amp board/rack i made however i moved it to the passenger side of the truck for easier access to the controls.
And this is what I want my truck to look like when I'm done.

I would steer away from that sub setup, you can go with 1 or 2 10's and get as loud as you want in a reg cab. I have one of the loudest single cab trucks in the state of Ms, 2nd loudest in usaci 0-600 in Ms, and you don't have to come forward the rear of the seat. Our trucks like to peak in the 40's. I ran 1 10" behind the driver seat with a 6" home made port loading on the passenger b-pillar and it does pretty well (the box design).

well i agree with what you are saying, however i listen to a vast diversity of music, so either i can readjust my amp/stereo after every song or, go ahead and get me a CD player with two 15's so i can pick up all the left behind notes my subs cant produce. I'm still not sure that I will go with the 15's also, only reason being, is i flipped my two subs over, raising it off my middle seat mounts almost 3/4 an inch, making it down fire onto the middle floor board.giving it the tight recoil and a bit better response to the hard punchy knocks that come back to back as if they were 10's but sound like 12's with the low notes. over all I know this build will be a little slow, due to lack of work at this time, but i know for sure when I'm done, it will be a bad *** little truck...I hope...
