2000 chevy silverado audio/performance build

Oh yeah, and for you Sub woofer lookers out there, here is a little advice, with the Audiopipe 12 inch sub woofer (as shown above) MAKE SURE if you get that brand to get the triple stack if your going to beat down the block, as the double stack will rip the coils apart when you reach the X limit. however i have herd two of the triple stack Audiopipe subs (same model but bigger magnet) in a 4 door ram, and standing 7 feet away your cloths still move, those subs rock if you under power two of them by about 50-100W each. But there not worth the $ if your on a budget. Might as well go with a name brand you know.

This isn't a PRO install however if people could comment on how the install itself looks or any comments they would change, that would be great! this is my first install in 7 years, but i don't think i did too bad.

to be honest, some of the deepest setups i ever heard was 10's and 12's, not 15's and 18's. I wish you was local to me so you could hear my setup. My 10" sub plays pretty deep, 90% of the sound/build is in the box. A 10" sub in its max recommended ported enclosure size tuned low will always sounds way deeper than a 18" sub in a minimum ported enclosure - generalized statement. Also, console setups are deceiving, most people use them in order to utilize air space, but most of the time they look bad and you lose seating. I can't post pics from the pc i'm at right now, but later I will show what i did in my truck.

This is the box I built for my 2000 reg cab. I made the port from 6" pvc and it flares about 3-4" from the right b-pillar. I'm peaking at about 41hrz with stock interior, when i pulled the center console the vehicles peak freq dropped to 37hrz but i also lost 1 db.

umm... well damn man, what type of speaker is that you have there? I understand what u mean about the 15's and 18's personally i love 12's but id figure with the reg cab maybe that would do me right, but hell from what it looks ur setup is pretty kool n i don't doubt that it'll blow ur head off.

It is a DD 3500 series 10", but i had it reconed by PSI, quick specs are dual 0.7Ω aluminum 3" coil, direct stitched leads. Its not going to kill anyone, but it is the 2nd loudest single cab in the state of Ms, which doesn't say much because the loudest is doing about 153 db on the termlab mic. I'm running about 1800w rms on this sub and wiring it down to .35Ω for burps when i go to comps, which is sees about 2500w rms then, but thats because i'm seeing a lot of voltage drop still, even with a 250a mechman alt and 2 sla batteries. Nationally the loudest true single cab truck is doing about 155-156 and that is 1 dd 9500 series 10" on 2 sundown 2500's in a square body s10.

I have never done audio build threads(i go through way too much equip). But i can dig into my photobucket and find pics i'm sure. I have been competing since mid 2004 off and on and worked at a few shops in the last 12 years, it used to be a major hobby of mine but i'm moving more towards performance now. I will see what i can find later tonight when i get home.

Sweet looking setup 20hz. I had a pair of DD 1508's in my truck at one time, probably my favorite system to date well that and the 12" Treo ssi tuned to 28hz I am gearing more toward SQ now though, just about to get it all wrapped up.
Chris, why the toggle switch? And I'm confused on how you burned the wire going through the fire wall. Did you not disconnect the batter when you were running your electrical for the amp?

Thanks 53, yea i pulled the sub, i'm tall and didn't care for the need to scoot the seat up some, plus i work and go to school full time so i don't have time to drive 2 hours to go to comps anymore. Plus, after playing it a min or so my right ear is killing me - it gives me a reason to pretend i didn't hear my wife when she says something to me, jk.
