Default Adding OEM fog lights to 00-02 truck

I have done countless searches, unfortunately - lots of dead ends. I see that the BCM requires flashing, but can't find anyone to do that operation. My 2001 did not come with them, despite have most other options: keyless, power windows & locks, power seats, overhead console, etc. I pulled the complete headlight harness and switch from my wrecked 2000. I also installed the BCM and PCM from that truck into mine in an attempt to get it all to play nicely.

I'm about ready to bypass some of the factory wiring and just hard wire between the fog lights and factory switch. Has anyone done this? Links to good wiring diagrams detailing this?

TIA

No write ups on that that I know of. A Tech 2 and the GM programming can allow you to do this job yourself though.

At the very least you would probably want to trigger a relay from the factory switch, it likely isn't rated for any decent amperage draw because it typically sends the switch connection to BCM which will be low amp.

I don't know if that switch would even be very easy to modify, I believe it's like a momentary switch? and doesn't actually click in/out like a make/break connection.

in that case you could wire the relay to latch, and when you shut the truck off and IGN power is removed, it could unlatch itself

less than ideal from a functionality standpoint, but it keeps the OEM switch! And I hate drilling factory plastics 🤷‍♀️

My 99 Silverado didn't come with fog lights either. I'd like to add them too. I replaced the BCM because my last one fried, but did pay attention to see if the donor truck from the junkyard had fog lights. 🤔

Back in the day GM sold a kit to do the conversion. Need to see if we can dig up the instructions regarding the programing.

Looks like the programing is just a matter of selecting the correct file when programming the BCM.

I saw their videos on YouTube, but go to their website - they no longer offer BCM programming for 99-02. 🙄 My girlfriend's father likely has a Tech2, maybe I can bribe him to help me reprogram the BCM.

The 99-02 kit was GM# 12495928

I recall it coming with the harness, the lamps, and the switch. The only image's I can find are on what looks to be a Russian site though...
