I have both but I dont have the plug for the BCM side of my bench harness.

Did you check the fuse box on your truck? I believe you have to add a 15 amp fuse in a certain spot on the fuse box based on what I read and saw.

Yes, I stole that fuse, the switch, and the entire front headlight harness from the donor truck. When I did the Z71 front valence, I added new fog lamps.

So the 2000 BCM didn't fix the issue in the 2001 truck? did it cause any lights or communication codes?

I only know on the 99-00 there are some minor differences in the wiring on the engine Vs. the 01-02. Some of the Programing is different as well. Maybe some of that translated into the BCM programming as well?

My dome light and overhead console lights haven't worked since. However, I redid the headliner at the same time. I need to get unlazy and pull it back down to see if everything is plugged in. It's tough driving it daily and trying to work on it. When I have fee time,I find myself making it faster vs. fixing all the little things that bug me. I need to finish the rehab on my 2500HD and take this truck off of the road for 6 months to go over everything.

I looked up the 99-02 BCM attachment for the bench harness I have and boy are they proud of it... would have to get a BCM Pigtail somewhere and make one.

It must be a luck of the draw ordeal. I swapped in factory fog lights to my 2005 some years back using the GM kit and it worked fine with no programming. I just pinned in the harness to the under hood fuse block, changed out the cargo lamp switch inside the dash and was good to go.

Is this something that could be scavenged from a junkyard vehicle?

03+ they don't run through the BCM. But the power window switches do. Ask me how I know. 😡

The BCM plug that provides the power and communication could be scavenged from a junkyard.

Next time I'm in the local salvage yard, I'll grab on if you want one. They tend to not charge me for small items like that.
