Default Amp has power, but no sound from sub

Like the title says

Was going to school the other day, not bumping it loud, and it cut out. I waited and it came back on playing, figured just the fuse under the hood wiggled loose. Well the sub kept cutting out, cutting out, and cutting out. I could lightly tough the cone of the sub and it would play again, but then cut out.

Is it the amp or the sub??? I already checked the connections on the amp and sub/box.

Oh and the power light for the amp IS on.

my guess would be voice coil or wire came off sub connector if your moving the sub and it makes it work. make sure everything is tight on the amp then venture in the box if your sure the amp is working. are you the one who said he kept blowing kenwood shallow mounts?

That's me

Checked pretty much all my connection from the amp to the headunit and to the sub, pulled fuses and checked em. All seems well. Its something the place where i got it installed is doing, it would have to be. I haven't touched a single setting on the amp, just changed EQ type things on the headunit itself.

EDIT: If i get it replaced again, it will be my 4th sub. Bought and had everything installed on my B-day back in february. Every replacement has been free since the excelon units have a 2 year warranty.

well im gonna take an educated guess and say that after 4 of them its not the speakers fault. what amp and speaker do you have? sub in a proper box/air space? and since you havent messed with any of it you probably dont know how your sub is wired up do you?

Amp is a KAC - X20, pushes 570 RMS. The Sub is a KFC-XW1200F, 1400 MAX and 350 RMS. Bought the amp big so i could get a second woofer if i wanted to later on. Amp is 2 channel. wiring for the sub comes straight off the amp to the box. As far as the amp wired to the stereo, no idea.

IDK what they are doing, but it is just costing them 200 bucks for every sub they hav to replace, and its just an inconvenience for me because i don't have time to get there before they close after i get off work.

Sounds like it ripped off one of the wires from the sub frame to the voice coil.

I DID notice a kinda burning smell this morning on the way to school. May have just been the heater running at full blast. Damn cold weather.

If i don't have time to run it up to the place i got it at tonight I'll pull the sub out of the box again and see if i can see anything on the woofer causing the problem.

I'm 99% sure now that the amp is NOT the problem.

but the amp could, it could be sending a DC current, frying the VC. If you smell buring, I bet your frying the coils.
With system off, in the center slowly and gently push in the cone, see and feel if you have any scratching, rubbing.
