Default Aux. input into factory deck??

As it says... is it possible to put in an Auxiliary port for an Ipod into the factory stereo? My FM transmitter took a dump and I hated it anyway for lack of good signal. Kinda slow when it comes to wiring but Im trying to get into it more so a nice break down would be awesome

I don't know anything about putting an Aux port/jack in but you might check these guys out, they have ipod interface kits.

I used one of these in my 03+:

It worked great. Actually has two inputs and a selector switch to choose your source. I just kept a hard wired audio plug hanging in my console so I could easily plug in my laptop or MP3 player.

For an 00 model, you have a couple of choices depending on your radio config:

I kinda like the one the guy did on LS1 tech. I've got a couple questions about it hopefully he can answer, if so I will be the guinea pig. Theres no anti theft code or something you have to put in the stereo on these is there?

Hmm this look interesting. I wonder if I can tap in to the wiring for the amp that is under my center console instead of taking the HU apart.

I saw this adapter on ebay. Does the casette player plug in with these RCA plugs like on this adapter? My 2000 Silverado headunit has a selector ffor "aux". Can I unplug the casette and plug this in and use my ipod? At least its cheap........and I can't find my Van Halen casette
