Default Battery drained overnight!!

I've got a 2001 lbrc 5.3 A4 that i bought just recently and I knew going into the purchase of the pick up that it had a bad battery drain issue.

I have noticed that the gear indicator/information center and security lights stay on when I turn the ignition off and get out of it.

Anybody have any ideas as to what controls these lights and what could be going on?

I havent messed with it at all and was just seeing if anyone has had this problem in the past.

Thanks

By any chance does it have an aftermarket remote start? I've heard of those draining batteries. My truck will go dead if I leave it for a week or so but it never just dies overnight.
