Default best sub placement 06 cc

fixing to put my components in and amp them, want to know where i should mount my amp. Going to put in subs later, probably 2 10's. Is it best airspace wise to put them behind the seat or under it? I dont want anything crazy, probably like two kicker comp 10's, not alot of power im thinkin300-500w rms, possibly 8's, but most likely 10's, or i guess 12's if yall think i can fit this bill, it maybe a few months before the subs would go it, but i dont want to have to move the component amp later.

also, i cannot lose any rear seat room, my toddler son rides back there and his carseat is in th back.

will a bass control **** completely turn the subs off? I guess what i want is to be able to turn the subs off when he is in the truck, i guess down real low would be ok.

also truck is an 06 silverado 1500 crew cab

thanks, jason

You can put them either behind or under the seat.i here some say the under seat down fire sounds best, but i personally never heard one. I'll sell you my subs and box that i have in my cc.

thanks for the offer, but id imagine shipping would be too high to do that.

not terribly worried about sound, i would think placement would only minorly affect the sound. i was talking more on room, basically which place offers more room for the sub space

I have one JL 10 under the rear drivers seat in my CC. Sounds great.

But if i had 2 subs i would put them behind the seat.

Yep, not enough room under the seat for a pair.

My single 10'' box takes the up the whole area underneath the left underside of the rear seat. And its just for a small space JL 10'' ( forget the exact model???)

The right side has damn brackets in the way. Im not excited about how GM designed this rear seat.

So behind the seat gives you the best option for 2 or more subs.

Or put bucket seats back there and have more room
