I have a single 10" kicker solo in my rc. The box is about the full width across the truck and as big as I could comfortably go the other way. It's ported also. No complaints with that, and nothing but compliments. Nobody ever thinks it's just one 10.

I think JL is over priced, its good equipment but there are better subs out there for the same money. The JL W1 is a great entry level sub and can be found cheap on the net, but I would go with the image dynamics over the W3

I have two 10W1v2-4 in my Tahoe in a sealed enclosure I built for the W0's I had in my truck which is about .64cf and they sound pretty good.
I am curious though as to why you would build the enclosure before deciding on a woofer? Now, instead of asking what brand is better, find a woofer that is more compatible with the .9cf of airspace they will reside in. FYI... the W1v2 and W3v2/3 have a recommended net enclosure volume of .625cf.
