Default carpeting sub box

Im building my own box and i went to home depot as well as a fabric store looking for something to cover my box with but could not find anything i liked. i have the dark charcoal leather interior and would like to cover the MDF box with something unique but i cant think of want. last box i had, i used vinyl which was kind of neat. has anyone had any interesting ideas? do i need to stick with a carpet material for acoustic effects? if worst comes to worst, i will try to color match as best as possible...where can i find something that matches my seats real well?

how ever you cover the box it will not affect the sound of the speakers..i built a custom center console and just used the carpet from home depot.

You could try wrapping it in leather if you really wanna get fancy. Vinyl will work. You can always try to reverse mount the subs and fiberglass the box. Anything you do to the outside of the box will not matter. The only way to make it sound better is to put polyfill or something inside the box. When making the box try to atleast fiberglass all the seams on the inside where the wood connects together.....it will give you a better seal

suede or tweed always makes things interesting and it is very easy to stretch around those corners and on oddly shaped things......should be able to get either at a carpet store.......

mmmmmm.........as bad as i hate to say it you might be able to find some deals on ebay, but other than that you will just have to get prices at your local carpet shop.....i think here it is anywhere from 10 to 15 dollars per foot if i remember right(havent checked in a while)....

Do you want something that is going to sound good? Or do you want it to look good? I built mine out of MDF and sealed everything with 100% Silicone. Then went to Wal-Mart and bought the Herculiner bed covering. I put about 5 coats on. I have 2 RF P2 12" speakers and they sound like 4 15" speakers. The Herculiner comes in what looks like a paint can. It completely seals the outside of the box. Just thought that might help.
