So im in the process of installing some polk dxi 6500 components and was wondering how much better would they really sound on an amp. Also do the baffle kits help any or are the mid range more of an open air speaker? Have a bose rear speakers ( for now) with jvc indash 800 watt amp and 2 power bass 10s downfired plus the components will be in front.

Baffls will help keep you from getting resonance from the door panel, and sound deadening would also help. They sound quite a bit better with an amplifier and more power...I've never heard this to not be the case with any components I've ever seen. It all comes down to the quality of the signal. Garbage in Garbage out.
