dual 10" ported or sealed DOWNFIRING enclosure?
does anyone have dimensions for an enclosure for the nbs that is 10" dual DOWNFIRING?
im going to be running 2 jl w6's powered by a 1000/1. i was told they would excel in a sealed box as far as SQ, but also would like to see them hitting high db levels so would want it ported. still cant decide which way i want to go.
input as far as reasons to go sealed or ported would help.
oh, i also have the backseat lifted 2" to fit a bigger box so the volume requirement for the ported box would be enough. i think its about 2.5cb ft give or take a .2 cb ft.

Go sealed boxes, downfiring. The boxes can be much smaller, and it WILL play very loud inside the truck. You will be impressed. It just won't carry blocks away. My 10's hit so hard that the cd player will not play without major skipping problems. Anybody who hears it is very impressed. Don't go ported, the boxes will have to be huge, and you won't get the in-car performance that you want.

so if i shortened the actual box height about an inch but kept the sides 12" long these specs would work? its for my truck with a 2" lift that a guy made for a ported forwardfiring
also another question... should i have the 2 subs in a common box or separate?

Separate chambers depends on how good you build stuff, if you can keep the chambers exactly the same size go for it. It's also safer. You blow a sub, chances are you won't hurt the other one before you notice it's gone.
Polyfill is used to 'increase' the box size, and is very useful in truck applications.
I don't know the specs underneath a rear seat but extend the legs and inch and a half or so so the surround has no chance of hitting the floor
