Default which DVD nav for 2004 silverado

what are my options for DVD Nav head units under $1000? i was going to get the ADIC-1 i think is the name. from pioneer or alpine i think. but i just found out that you cant play DVD's while driving. also it would be great if you didn't have to put a CD in for the nav to work. i would want to be listening to my cd's while working the nav. unless it had a hard drive.

By law you cannot have any video source viewable to the driver while the vehicle is in motion aside from Navigation or cameras that assist in driving. Every manufacturer of head units has safety features built in to keep you from doing this usually related to the Park on your vehicle or the parking brake. That being said it is possible to bypass the safety features though its illegal and in some states a huge fine.

Youre not going to find an In-dash unit cheaper than the AVICD3. While it does suck that when your using the Nav portion you cant use the CD player can use the radio, xm radio, or MP3 player.

Pio D3 yet again!! If you have an iPod there is no better way.

Pioneer Z2 is retarded cause the HD is small @ 30gb. 20gb for nav data....... Then you have a whopping 10gb for music. Save yourself the mess, hassle of the HD failing and get a D3.

i didn't think the D3 had a hard drive, guess i should look at the specs. so with the D3 i can listen to a CD and use the NAV? or save music on the HD and use the NAV?
