Get an aftermarket unit man. Stock nav deck is not worth it in the long run. PLUS the stock nav unit will NOT play DVD's!!!

Aftermarket deck such as the Pioneer D3 is cheaper and you dont have to buy any extra ****!!!

its just plug and play look on ebay just make sure you get the right one there are a few diffferent models out there.. after market ones you will need to buy a wire harness which will cost about 100 bucks or so.

Only if you have Bose!!!

Theres 2 different version of that GM Nav unit. Lux and non-lux. Your looking at $1000 bucks I think for a unit that wont play DVD movies unless you get an external source to do so.

I did exactly this. Put a non-lux into my '06 and only had to buy a Nav antenna for $75.00 at the dealership and have them unlock it with the Tech2. Then I bought the Denali/Escalade in (lower) dash 6disc changer w/harness from JPCustoms. Everything works perfectly, as stock. If I wanna watch a movie I'll use my living room theatre for that. Nav is the ****!

thanks I was looking at the 07 units I dont know if anyone has tried but it had 6 disc and dvd built in

I would really like a nav and im not to worried about dvd but I want to keep my steering wheel controls and I have heard it cant be done with a aftermarket.

How much did the dealer charge to reprogram it and does the nav units already have 6 disc changer in them

Wrong......... You can keep wheel controls with non-stock DDIN head units.

No prob. Nav head came out of a totalled vehicle for $0, the antenna was $75.00 from the dealership and they unlocked it for me for $0. The remote disc w/harness cost $250.00. I hooked it all up, no brainer.

Good luck swapping in a NBS unit. Hope you're good with electronics and schematics.

Oh, and the former (my) design is a single disc which requires the Nav DVD in order to operate which is why I added the remote 6 disc.
