Question help with my bose system please!!!!!

hey guys im going to be working on the system in my 2004 escalade ext.
right now i have 2 10's in a under seat box and a memphis 500d amp.
i have a spare set of mb quart componets that i would like to put them in my truck. i know the factory bose amp is in the console between the front seats.
can i just replace the front bose speakers with my mb quarts? like the woofer and tweeters in the factory pillar location? i have been thinking about geting a factory integration box like the jl audio clean sweep or memphis also has some thing simular. it tie's in the the factory wireing from behind the radio or at the factory amp and lets me install an aftermarket amp useing the stock radio. i know the mb quarts are 4ohm and are probly more efficient so im thinking the bose is also 4 ohm. help me out guys. i would like to try just replaceing the speakers for now then in a few months i might go with a new amp and the box like i said.

usually bose are 8 ohm or 2 ohm.......pull a speaker and look on the back to see before hooking 4ohm speakers up to it

but i can tell you those mb's are prolly gonna want at least 100 watts going to them and your factory bose amp wont do half that.....

We benched a bose amp, I *think* it was a 2000 ish car, it put out 25 watts. It's basically an external HU amp.

The bose speakers are about 2.4ohm, I replaced mine with 2.65ohm infinitys and they sound great. I've heard a few people putting 4ohm speakers with stock amps and they sound good until you crank the volume, stock bose amps will clip really bad.

the infinity 2ohm speakers are actually a 4ohm speaker.....there was an article written awhile back about how the impedence of the speaker changed to 4ohm after it had been playing and "warmed up".

but back to the problem at hand, there is nothing wrong with putting 4ohm speakers on a 2ohm amp except for the fact that you will have to turn it up alot louder to get the volume your use to because of the resistance of the speaker being doubled. like stated above turning the volume up loud to compensate usually results in crackling speakers and the amp clipping.

Mine were at 2.65ohm after I benched them for 10 minutes with my onkyo m282. Not sure if they go higher after that but they sound good enough to not drive me mad until I get my focals in march.
