Just as a quick 'what if', I bought a used 200 amp alternator off the classifieds here years ago. It looked badass, but it would discharge at idle. Then it just konked. Since it was aftermarket, rebuilding it was cost prohibitive. So I got a 145 and it never gave me trouble. Factory parts have to work. Someone MIGHT know about this, but when I went to the wrecker to get a 145, they asked me if I wanted a 160. Anyone seen one of those? It was in the computer, the same system car part dot com uses I believe. But a 145 should do ya, especially with the big 3. I saw many massive stereos running off stock 60 amp alternators when I was a wee lad.

build your own, my wagon is 201 amps and has worked flawlessly for over a year. Cost me alittle over $100.00 bucks and took less than an hour for me to rebuild with basic tools

Running a 200 amp, 2400 watts, efans, and a second battery. Voltage dips slightly during heavy bass, at a stop, with the headlights on. but jumps back up very quickly after take off. This, along with the big 3 done in 2/0 gauge wire.
