How is this for an audio system upgrade...?
Im getting a new job soon and thinking of upgrading the shitty stock audio system in my 03' Silverado. I'm not looking for a high priced, all out competition system... just something that is in a good price range and will play louder and cleaner than stock. I've been searching around and have read good reviews on Polk audio speakers. So here is the system I've been thinking of getting...
Polk 6.75" db6750 component speakers (100w rms) for the doors with some Dynamat Xtreme 10" x10" sheets. Some Polk 4" x 6" db460 coaxial speakers (40w rms) for the rear pilars and and some 4" round Polk db400 coaxial speakers (35w rms) for the doors where the OEM tweeters go.
I am thinking of powering the 6.75" speakers with a 100w x 2 amp (not sure which to get yet, but something like an MTX, Diamond Audio open to suggestions..) The 4" x 6" and 4" powered by the stereo's outputs with some 600hz bass blockers. I have the stock cd player right now, but also plan to upgrade in the near future (when more $$$ starts flowing) with an Alpine or Pioneer MP3 HU (between $300-$400).
Anyone running Polk speakers? What do you guys think about their sound quality? Any weak points? So what do you guys think about this setup? Any suggestions, coments, tips welcomed.
btw, I plan on adding some 12s later down the road after the head unit for some sweet thump. Also I plan to get all of this from an Ebay store to save some cash.

Cliff notes to my post.
Will some Polk db6750 components running on a 100x2 amp, some Polk 4x6s an Polk 4" sound good in an 03 RCSB Silverado? If not what would you guys suggest?
Thanks in advance.

Polk is a great speaker. My buddy had a complete Polk system in his WRX. Sounded amazing!! IMO...Alpine amps are great for components. Diamond is great also. As for the bass blockers....dont waste your money. Never heard a good thing about them. Any Head Unit with a customizable equalizer setting would be great for those polks!

I have two 12' Audiobahn subwoofers (550watts each) that are sitting at my house in a vinyl-covered box ready to be installed if you're interested....i'm giving it away for $350...i can post up some pics if you want...And also, i would recommend getting the 25th anniversary kenwood stereo, sounds good and the screensavers are awesome...

Bass Blocker work if you get the right ones... and it worth it to play with them for the $5 they cost I would recomend a 4Ch amp and run all your speakers off that and nothing of the deck (15-17watts RMS just dosent cut it). the 4x6's arnt a bad idea but a 5.25 is a easy fit. Also you might want to get a good look at your door theres not ALOT of room in there for a 4" where the tweeter goes im not saying its not doable just look before you order I put a rockford 3" in mine and they rub the door as of right now.

Hmmm. I think my cousin Black_Silverado_5.3 has some 4" speakers along with some 6.5" at the doors, but Im gonna have to double check my truck to see if they will fit.
I like the 5.25" instead of the 4x6s idea. What do I need to make them fit? I'll look into getting a 4 channel amp and run the 6 speakers off of it.
