Question How would this setup sound???

I have an 06 Silverado EXT cab with the BOSE system in it. I installed a Pioneer AVH-P3200DVD Double Din and the BOSE actually sounds really good with the HU. i have the bass boost on 1 of 6 and the LOUD feture turned off and the factory sub shakes the mirror! But it still lacks a lil bass for my taste, especially when you turn the volume past 16. I am looking at adding a sub system to the truck. I found a "kit" that includes a box that fits under the drivers side of the back seat and houses 1 kicker 8" L7 and a Kicker ZX400.1 amp. I like the box only taking half of the underseat space because I keep jumper cables, a tow chain and a small tool kit under my seat. The kit includes a 4ga wiring kit for a pretty good price. But just how loud will this lil guy get? I imagine it should get pretty loud considering the way this hu sounds! Also, will the 8" sub hit the deep notes or should I go with a 10" sub? What do you guys think?

Sounds like your off to good start! The headunit you have is a really nice. I am curious how you have it hooked up to the factory bose system. Do you still have everything ran though the factory bose amp? If so I would just be worried about it overheating.

About the sub you found. If your looking for a little more bump it will definately get you there. How do you plan on hooking the sub up? Are you going to run RCA from your sub outputs on the back of your head unit or tapping into the leads going to the factory sub?

I bought a adapter harness for the bose system that uses the hu's rcas to send the signal to the bose amp. I plan on running an interconnect rca cable from the hu's sub out to an external amp and then speaker wire from the amp to the sub.

The adapter should work really well then and should produce some good sound. Hooking the sub with the RCA's is the only way to go IMO. As far as what size sub to go with if your wanting just a little more bump the 8" would be fine but the 10" would give you more room to bump a little harder on thoughs songs that you really enjoy.

If it were me I would go with the 10" just for that reason vs. working an 8" to death. Plus the 10" will pickup the lower bass notes alot better.

Well I originally planned for a 2-10" box with 2 Kicker CVR 10". But then I reallized how much crap I actually have under the seat and found that kit and thought it might be fine for me. But, I'm starting to think the 2 10" would be more to my taste. I'll just have to figure out somewhere to store the basics (jumper cables, small tool kit, etc.).

If you're thinking that 2 10's would be more your taste than the single 8" or 10" would only leave you wanting more. Definately go with the 2 10" setup. you can mount each of them in their own box to leave you room in the center hump for a slim tool box and put your jumpers up and behind the rear of the seat. (I have my 18k tow strap folded up next to the stock jack location). Or just build one box that holds both 10s and spans the entire back section but keep a recess in the center to hold your tools so you still have a nice finished look when the seat is down.......just thoughts.

Well, I had a buddy that was gonna sell my 2 single boxes, but they wouldnt fit because of the way my floor is shaped. It flares out like the NNBS floor. I have to get a box for a NNBS, and all I can find are one complete box

I would go with one of the square kickers 10" and a bigger amp 800 to 1000 watts. You can keep your space and it will definantly be loud enough.
