Installing a Viper 1002 Alarm
#12
I got the 457 databus module wired up everything and now I was trying to program the alarm and it wont go into the programming mode... I know the siren is supposed to chirp after holding down the vallet button and it doesn't chirp. The sirendoes work when I hold down any button on the remote so I know it's wired right... any suggestions anyone?

If my memory serves me right it is drivers door open key on key off fives pushes of valet switch it will then chirp once to notify it has entered programming mode you then go to whatever menu in the alarm from that point.
Programming the interface module is a complete different step you have to tell it what type of vehicle and how you want it to operate. This step is not done through the alarm programming it is done by a push button on the interface module

From what i remeber about the 457 module to enter into the programming of the alarm you may have to actually turn the dimmer dial and turn the domelight on manually and make sure you do not have the dome light defeat button pushed in.
