JL's not hitting the low lows :( input??

The amp wasn't hot but I know it has the self shut off feature.
My buddy has 2 10" w1s in a ported box, avalanche. They hit so hard with rap (just strait dominates my system) but dose not hit the mid/high bass with country, rock, metal, dub as well as my set up. Not as loud and a lot more sluggish. I guess that is all due to the port vs. sealed idea

Do you happen to know your amp make and model number so we can look up the specs on it and see what ohm load it's stable at, the RMS wattage, and the frequency response?
EDIT: Re-read first post.
Your amplifier is 2ohm stable. Which is where you'll get your best wattage and sound.
If your speakers are 4ohm SVC, then you will connect amp + to each sub + and amp - to each sub -. This will create a 2 ohm load on the amplifier, and give you 1000W RMS. If your subs end up being 2ohm SVC, this will create a 1ohm load and cause problems with your amp. With a 4ohm load you'll see 600W RMS, which is still more than enough for those 2 10's.

What headunit are you using? Factory? Or aftermarket? Before I installed my stereo I used the outputs for the factory Bose sub and didn't have any lows because of the Bose crossover points used in their factory amps.
Posting this from my phone. Sorry for not going in more detail.
