so its all installed....now I'm waiting for EfiLive to get back to me for an additional liscense.....forgot earlier....damn. I have been doing some searching on the forum here, when I was looking up the factory turn on temps.....and found some stuff about pin 33 not working. but it seemed to only affect 99-02. Is this true? I hope I didnt just do all that for nothing....I guess I could dig up an 05 pcm, and flash it with my 04 tune....I do have a commercial license, so I can do that, right?

ok, did some more looking for a bit....seems like it all works fin e on 03+ trucks. I figured it would, as the part number for my PCM is used on the export vette's as well, and those DEFINETELY dont have clutch fans......lol

As for the actual install of the fans. I already had them in, and was using a FAL VSC to control them. worked OK, but when towing with 100*F and 95% humidity here in good ole' Nebraska, the coolant temps would shoot up, and a fault of the VSC is that it can only read up to about 220* temps....then it would be out of range, and not kick the fans on. Would have to pull over, kill the truck, let it sit ofr a second to cool. On the highway, no overheating took place, just around town. Well, I wanted a little more precise control over them, with a more OE look, even though there wasnt much to be seen with the VSC. So, instead of investing in an efan harness and just plugging it in,
I decided to just build my own, exactly as the GM wiring diagram. Did that, got the license for tuning the truck, and based off of 05 turn on temps, set my on temps and times, and voila!! 05-like efan setup!! Questions?

BTW - Anybody want an e-fan harness built?

awesome!

questions:

1. do the fans come on at progressive speeds now?
2. whats the part # for the factory relays?
3. do you have a diagram of how you hooked it up?
4. both pins are activating the fans right?
