Default New audio setup Qs

Looking to redo my sub set up after blowing one a couple months ago.

Currently I am running 2 Kicker 12s in a sealed box I bought 2 years ago. Can't remember the exact kicker model but I will pull it and post when I get home pretty sure they are rated at 650 RMS. I also have a Lanzar Heritage HG558BT I believe is the model. This powered them on a separate dual channel 1000 watt. I am pretty sure that is why they blew lol Here is the box:
Amazon.com: Atrend Bbox A152-12CP Dual 12” Sealed Subwoofer Enclosure Fits 1999-2007 Chevrolet/GMC Silverado/Sierra Cab, charcoal : Everything Else Amazon.com: Atrend Bbox A152-12CP Dual 12” Sealed Subwoofer Enclosure Fits 1999-2007 Chevrolet/GMC Silverado/Sierra Cab, charcoal : Everything Else

So I am really looking for sound quality over loudness without giving up feeling the sub hit if you catch my drift?

Main question is, is this box screwing me? Should I drop down to like a single 10" ported or sealed box? Would I lose that subwoofer feel or would it still hit good?

Any subwoofer brand suggestions? I have 2 Skar 12s sitting in my garage but if the box/Skar is no good I have no problems off loading all my equipment and trying to find new stuff.

I know that you can get good hitting bass in the extended cabs. My only constraint is that I do not want 4 8"s, that is like the ugliest thing ever in my opinion.

Questions, comments, concerns? I would like to have my subs back in my truck by mid October since that is when I start daily driving the truck again.

Just get a quality sub and make sure you put it in an enclosure of the right size. I've run JL audio for a long time and have no complaints, find out the exact size of the boxes you have and get subs to match.

Yeah I was thinking of switching to a JL single 10". I really don't want to drop $600 on a completely new box and two new subs but I am unsure if I will be happy with just one...

You Tahoe boys are so spoiled with your big trunk

I had a custom enclosure done that sits where the factory bose sub normally is. 98% of the time my seats are folded down and I have gear in the back so having a box that takes up precious space or having to disconnect wires and move it was not an option! I have a simple 12" W3 I think they are around $350 now which is expensive but worth it IMO. I had the same 12" W3 for 9-10 years powered by half a dozen different amps and in a dozen different vehicles until finally last year it met its demise when I put a little more power to it and ran it hard. I kept the same dented and ugly sub cover in respect to its fallen comrade.

Yeah that is the best option in tahoes is that factory location. I will keep mine under the back seat. I did think about moving my amp up to be underneath my center console but I don't know if I will ever get around to doing that lol

I'm looking at some of the JL 10s right now

JL makes some nice all-in-one box, amp, sub combos as well. My RCSB has a power wedge that kicks *** paired with a JD500 amp.

Sell it to me, you don't even drive that truck.

I don't know if they will make one that fits extended cabs I will have to look.

They do but it is a grand lol

I have a lnfinity Reference 8” sub in sealed box. It’s plenty enough for me and more then enough if I push it.

Look as long as it it enough to rattle the rear view mirror and feel it in my chest sounds good to me

Seriously considering a single 10” set up.

I was also recommended some Infiniti 1200 watt Kappas. Those are 2 12s, they run about $115 and they fit my box volume nicely. Haven’t decided for sure yet though.
