so what ya got? you drawing now? it can be longer if it needs to but it would have to be an inch skinnier as in 10 vise 11 because of the seat levers and it could prolly go taller but it would have to angle with the seat to keep it from hitting the hatch

ok i'm confused. on this http://mobile.jlaudio.com/pdfs/7876.pdf page it says all dimensions are external. but the port dimensions say internal. so do i use internal dimensions on the port or external?

Internal - you need to build the correct cross-sectional port area and the right length, regardless of the external dimensions of the material you use.

Here's what I used when I built my box

And here's my box, can't pass up an opportunity to show off

so how do you know what frequency to "tune" it to? still haven't found that. everything tells you how to tune it to frequency but not a damn thing that says what freak'n frequency lol.

Depends on what you want. Competitors tune it high, like those mid 50's you were mentioning, because that's what gives them the highest dB rating. I can't remember now if I got 33 hz from the sub MFG or if that was supposed to be good for daily listening.....but I'd say you probably want to be between 30 and 35. I'm sure Snake Eater can help you more than I can.

nice box by the way. well i went to a couple calculators and one took all the info from the sub itself and said to tune to 30.4 i guess. so i played with another calculator useing jl's diameter they gave (had to find more math to convert square inches to diameter lol) and it said for 30.4 htz i needed a port length of 32 inches i think it was. so played around and figured out that jl's daigram for there box is tuned to about 32-33 htz. lol its like being back in math class. so if i do this all right the 2 jlaudio 12w6v2's with say 800-1000 watt rms should pound prety hard.

That should be awesome. I have a pair of 10" DVC Rockfords in mine, rated to 500w RMS each, and I have a 1600w RMS amp running them, and they sound awesome. 12's would sound even better.
