Ok some problems, please help..
03 Silvy, 6disc with the bose system, dunno if that matters.
- It will not play any cd's, when i hit the load or cd button it just sits there and makes a **** load of noise. After about 5 minutes of driving in silence it will say "initializing" and just sit there, it wont eject or load any cd's, basically it won't do anything. Every once in a blue moon it will randomly start playing again, but if i try to eject or load a new cd it screws up again. Anyone ever have this problem (stock unit!)
Please help, cause this is getting really old.

sounds like you've got a short or a loose connection somewhere. take the plug out of the back of the cd player, blow it out with some dust-off (not compressed air) and plug it back in, then see what it does. if that doesn't help, then you may have a bad radio component - i.e. the cd loader tray has broken or come off of its track. i've seen this on a shaker system and in a toyota before, but never in a GM vehicle.

I would put money on it being a broken unit. Its 7 yrs old now if you think about it. Mine is slowly heading twards its maker as well. I have an older alpine that is getting fixed as we speak and as soon as I get it back its going in. If your looking to hang on to the truck for a while I say go ahead and spend the money and put a nice aftermarket system in. Especially if your driving a lot. Im in my truck pretty much all day so spending some money on a nice custom stereo is worth it to me. I can't do anything without music.
