Default Radio swap

I have an 06 chevy van and all it has in it is a Am-Fm radio I would like to buy a factory Am-Fm radio Cd player outside of swapping the 2 out what else is needed to be done, from what I gather it is not plug and play. Thanks in advance.

If your vehicle is not programmed for the CD player, more than likely you will need it to be flashed with a techII. If you have a CD player and are swapping to another factory CD player that is the SAME, more than likely it will be plug and play.

wow, so the bcm controls the radio added functions? That's pretty friggin low of GM. LOL fuggers. I have a stock 2000 cd radio from my truck, that wouldn't work in the van? You can try it Bryan. If anything, it only cost ya a techII flash.

Thanks but I think I might just get an i-pod problem solved. I know I change my mind more than my underwear.

you should just need a re-flash of the bcm. I did the same thing with my '06. I had a factory am/fm radio and I put in a factory CD player, just find one compatible with an '06 G-Van which should be easy. The van and truck head units are the same and I think I have a short list of pn's that will work if interested I can dig it up.
