Default Regular Cab Subs

I am getting ready to install a system in my regular cab. The plan is to either buy a prebuilt box or have one made to go behind the seats. I have the amps and door speakers already.

JL Audio 300/4
JL 500/1
MB Quartz 6.5" Components
MB Quartz 5.25 Components

I dont know if I should go with 4 8's or 2 10's... Anybody have ideas? I listen to mostly rap if that helps.

Also, would it be better to buy a speaker pod for the door to install both sets of components? Or 6.5's in the door and 5.25 in q logic kick panels?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

im guessing this is going in you 00 reg cab.

for subs i would say it depends on how much money you want to spend.
for the speakers i would do the 6.5 in doors and the 5.25 in q logic kicks.

I have two 12's kicker shallows, with a Fosgate power 1000 watt amp. And it hits hard. The only thing your gonna have issues with is the excursion of the woofers. The seats will not allow any and I noticed that If I have the seat a lil forward it has a deeper sound and hits lil harder. It get sound from an alpine media player. The doors are component polk audio.

I'm planning on something along these lines. 2 DD 8's behind the driver's side with port facing towards the passenger side.

this is for 2 10's in an OBS but can be adapted to the newer trucks

One 12", in a properly ported box. Alpine R shallow mount, DD, RE, Image Dynamics, or even a CVT or Memphis PR (yes, they will take 500 RMS) will all work out. The whole two "10's v.s. whatever" argument is extremely vague, and often people recommend setups that honestly don't even sound good/right, all because they've never really heard anything decent, besides what they were overcharged for at a local shop. I like Q Logic kicks. You probably would, too.

4 8's = 200.96 in^2 of surface area
2 10's = 157 in^2 of surface area

All things held constant, the 8's would be louder.

As for speaker pods, or kick panel enclosures, it's pretty much a personal choice. I'm personally building speaker pods for my doors, but the kicks would work equally as well, and there is no fabrication involved with those.

Do you have any links to boxes? I am not sold on any particular sub or size, whether 8, 10, or 12's.

I was thinking of getting these:

Thanks for the input... I am going to do more research. Will post up with my set up once I have it figured out.
