Dont forget if you get an aftermarket cd player/radio you have to buy the black box..I think its 03 and up GMC/Chevys..Well if you have a programmer/efi live you must take the fuse out for the radio in the fuse box, to program your truck if you have that box installed..

I personaly always put my amps on my own switch. Not all the time do you want your subs playing so it is much easier to turn off the switch then it is to use the radio to do the work for you.
If you put it on a switch then any keyed power sorce is fine.

this would work, but i am not looking for the constant 12v power, i need the remote type wire that is ignition sourced. so when the power to the radio goes off my amp doesnt keep running
