Default Single Kicker CVX in Reg. cab...ported or not??

Well im going to put 1-12" Kicker CVX sub in my regular cab right behind where the folding center console is. That way i dont have to have the passenger or driver seat moved forward.

Anyways, i was thinking, would it be best to have the box sealed or ported? I want the bass to be heard from inside AND outside also. What would be best to do? Sorry but im a newbie to trucks...just got rid of my T/A

Well both setups can shake inside and outside. the question is what kind of music do you listen too. Rock=sealed Rap, R&B,pop=ported

sealed boxes will hit hard and clean
ported will shake the crap out of everything

You need to look at box size too
a sealed box does not need to be as big as a ported one.
If you look up the specs on the sub it will tell you how big the box needs to be

I prefer sealed

Well most of the music i listen to is rap/r&b. Yeah i want it to shake hard outside.

Im not sure of the specs but its going to be one of those single 12" sub enclosure off ebay to fit in rc trucks. Im kinda broke so i can spend alot on a box, and i got a deal for the kicker cvx too.

I looked at the specs off kicker.com and for sealed it said "min/max for sealed is 1.0-4.6 cu. ft. and min/max for vented is 1.75-2.25 cu. ft.

I guess i can always have it sealed and try it out. Since it should be hard to take the box and and just port a hole on the side?

A sealed 12 in a SC is still gonna be loud. I ported a ten for giggles and it's way too loud. If I listen to it at where I modelled it for, I'd be deaf.

Go sealed...it'll stay clean and get loud. It's not like your fighting through a trunk and 2 rows of seats.
