Also to tighten up the bass in a sealed inclosure pack it with poly fill and you will get some low notes youve never heard before..

I prefer the ported enclosure myself. I used to play every kind of music clear as can be and still took it to world finals. If the ported enclosure is made just right, you'll get more sound out of it and it still hits hard. It all depends on how well designed the box is. I run nothing but kicker and I always called them for optimum setups. I have a friend with 1 - 10" solo baric and I wouldn't have thought it, but they told me to fire it down with the port forward. Sounds great. I'd give them a call and they could tell you in more detail how to set it up.

ported boxes are great but unless you know what you're doing while building you'll end up blowing the sub...if a ported box doesn't have the EXACT amount of air space you'll blow the sub b/c of too much extraction/excursion

The only reason I advise for sealed boxes in SC trucks is the box. It's 10x harder to design and build a 'stealthy' ported box that maintains all the correct port measurements, and have it sound decent. Most of the times if the port is firing forward, all it's doing is slamming into the back of your seat and giving you a nice massssssage.

Super easy to have SPL and some SQ, out of a sealed box. I know you can fit 12's behind the seats no problem. a 15" would probably require some mods. But a 12 is more then loud enough for most people's daily usage.

Ported would definately be louder but it uses a much smaller frequency range as it has to be tuned to one frequency and will roll off much faster than a sealed box. In a RC sealed will sound great and actually carry better than you think. You're basicly turning the cab of your truck into a bandpass...just crack the windows about 4" and people outside will have no problem hearing you coming for blocks.

I have a 1200watt amp pushing the kicker cvx. Should hopefully be enough

Box is sitting on the floor facing toward the front of the truck, right behind where the folding center console is

Exactly, i didnt want to do all the measurements to get the correct amount of airspace for a ported box. Just made a single 12" box last night. 15"w x 18"h x 8"d
