Default Sound deadening

Well I pulled the carpet out of the truck this weekend to take care of some things and I'm thinking about doing some sound deadening while the carpet is out. Question is....would you dynomat the entire floor/back wall or just pick key spots to put it in?

You could use FatMat it is a hell of alot cheaper and is about half as thick. A lot of resto guys on ProTouring use it and like it. Dynomat is just too expensive.. I would cover as much as you can.. Search for FatMat on ebay.

Thanks for the responses...I realize it's expensive for dynomat....but I was just using it as an example since everyone knows what it is and people might not know about the brown bread or whatever it's called.

I covered the back wall with 3 layers, the floor with 2 layers, and doors with 1 layer on my CC. Still haven't done the roof. It's only worth it if you have a loud sound system with a lot of bass IMO. I think I added about 30 pounds worth

You can use a paint on bedliner like you find in AutoZone of O'reillys. I did this with a buddy on his 96 Impala SS and it made a world of difference. It can be done in a weekend.

you can go cheaper and lighter if you have connections to someone at a carpet place, i use carpet pad in the rear pillars on my rcsb and it works great. also, you dont really need to put any on the floor as you already have some from the factory under the carpet, better areas to focus on would be the doors, back wall, and especially the roof (this will cut down road noise A-LOT)....

Second skin is considered the best out there at the moment

www.secondskinaudio.com

The main place to get best results would be the doors, I believe SS sells kits for doors. I installed SS on a friends malibu, all 4 doors, trunk top and bottom. Stopped most of the rattles and keeps the sound inside the car.

When I tear into my truck again, it's getting SS on the doors, floor and back wall.

www.edesignaudio.com

Much better than FatMat, and the same price. They also have a liquid for those hard-to-reach places. Very good product, imo.
