I ran a JL 300/4 full blast through the stock wire in my old ecsb. I'm not sure what the difference would be with bigger wire, but mine sounded fine, loud too.

you shouldnt need bigger wire for your average run-of-the-mill aftermarket door speakers. I run 12ga. to mine because i had it lying around and 10ga. to the sub. But you should be fine with stock wire for door speakers.

I was wondering the same thing. Im fixin to put a Kenwood CD Player and new door speakers Front and Rear in. thought about running new wire that was larger than the factory stuff.
Prob be a waste of time so i just plan on slapping them in and jamming.

Say you have 75 watts RMS going to the door speaker. The voltage output varies on the amp to ~40v? If so, you would have 1.875 amps going through that wire intermittently. Does this sound correct? I haven't checked into this, but thinking out loud.

the stock wire works fine for 90% of people as long as you arent gonna go real crazy with the install.

I was thinking that you take the power you want to give the speakers (75 watts) and multiply that by the resistance of the speaker (4 ohm) and take the square root of that should be the voltage at the speaker wire. something around 17v. at least that is how i have heard it, could be way off though.

that is what i recomend, or splice into the wire instead of cutting the plug off so you can put factory back in if you want to sell
