Stock Sub Wiring
Hello All,
Its been years since I have done anything stereo related and I have a couple questions. First off this is in my wife's 2006 nissan murano, the stock bose sub just sucks and I noticed it has 2 sets of wires going to the sub. Does that mean it has dual voice coils? If it does can I just double up the wires to a single voice coil sub [2 red wires 2 green wires]? I plan to either custom build a sub enclosure that fits in the tire completely or cut out a round panel that fits flush and snug just inside the rim and use a free air sub.
Thank you.

If it's like the GM that has the Bose system you have an amp somewhere in the vehicle. Pretty sure it's not a dual voice coil and I wouldn't double up any wires. I would just run an aftermarket sub and amp and bypass the factory amp for the best sound. I think gm bose is 3 ohms or something crazy like that. Do not try to run a sub on the factory amp it will not work. Hope this helps.
