Default Sub boxes

Do you guys make your own or buy them? I'm wanting just a single 10 for my truck, but it's an RCSB so I don't have a whole lot of room behind my seats for a big box. If you guy's buy them where do you get them? I havn't found a good place around me to get one.

Also where are you mounting your amps in the RCSB's? Do you just mount them to the sub box or what?

Thanks for any input.

I have a big amp(PG-Ti500.4) mounted under the seat. I just took out the seat and removed the bar that goes across the bottom of it.

IMO i would build the box myself so i know for sure that it is the correct specs for whatever sub you buy. If you dont have tools to do so then have a shop build you one for that specific sub, do not buy a "prefab" box because alot of the sound of a sub is in the box.

And as brent stated i too have my amps under my seats. you would be surprised what you can fit under there. The amp under my pass. seat is 26" long.

i agree with the build it yourself...screw the prefab specs...they're always wrong & i've had problems with prefabs falling apart...yeah...shitty i know...either way...depending on the sub that you choose...you're probably gonna have to put it behind your passenger seat & you're gonna have to move the pass. seat all the way up...

i built a box thats 9 inches deep at bottom and 4 inches deep at top and 54 inches wide and put 2 8's in it firing downward on the outside edges of the box and ported the box using 3x 16 inch precision ports with flared ends on the ends of the box (on on each end) as one big box and i am using an autotek at1000 amp with two ma80xe subs and i can still scoot the seat back all but one click from all the way back and let me tell you my two 8's would be competition for 2 12's let alone 1 10, the sound quality is par none. i tuned it to 33hz with the ports and the ma80xe's have 20 mm's xmax, in other words they hit hard!!

i guess what im getting at is CONE DIAMETER<APPROPRIATE BOX FOR SUB any sub can be stuffed into a tiny lil box but if you build your box on paper and calculate for airspace and take ported / sealed into consideration you will find yourself running out of room very quickly and sacrificing cu.ft. for cone diameter is a crutch...building a box the recommended airspace for the sub is a must
