Tahoe doesn't respond to key fobs anymore
Yesterday, my key fob remote stopped working, both lock and unlock. Thinking the remote had gone bad, I grabbed my other remote and that one didnt work either. I recently replaced both batteries.
What typically goes bad on the truck when remotes stop working? How can I test the different parts?
Thanks guys

Try holding lock and unlock together 7 seconds but sometimes I've had it take 20 to 30 seconds. If they are transmitting this will resynchronize the transmitter to the PDM (passenger door module) if the rolling code got out of whack. The truck will respond by locking and unlocking the doors when resynch is complete.
Start with new batteries in both remotes

Whelp, it worked fine for a bit, then stopped working, then started working again, but now seems has stopped working for good. Changed the batteries with new and tried the resync a number of times but no luck. The truck doesnt respond to the back up remote either. What else could it be?

The keyless entry/tire pressure monitoring is built into the passenger door module. It's the switch assembly. IF you installed new batteries in the remotes already and it's still doing it chances are the door module is failing. You could always pull the door panel and disconnect and reconnect the wiring harness connectors on the off chance it is making a poor connection.
If you haven't put new batteries in the remotes it could be aggarvating the rolling code algorithim and confusing the keyless entry module making it not recognize the remotes when you use them.
The new PDM needs to be programmed for your truck.

I did pull the passenger door panel off and disconnected the switches a few months ago to fix a speaker problem, so could be a loose connection, I'll try that. So it is part of the lock/unlock and window assembly in the passenger door?
Again, thanks for the help
