after my last system im a firm believer now that amp and power source have more to do with a good sounding sub than the sub. it was my first jl system and i will be goin back, stick with a the jl amp and there RIPS regulated power control and a decent subs/airspace and i think you would be in good shape. but yea sorry i got no exp with shallow subs yet, besides hearing the tw5 is kickass like mentioned many times before

No better words ever spoken....good clean power and you can damn near double the power the subs are rated for. I have done that so many times. My car stero guy measured today and I have 1.5 cubes behind the seat. So that pretty much means only 2 12s in their recommended airspace unless I do a blow through which I don't want to.
