What would cause my amp to cut out??

im going to wire it like this:

1. amp + to voice coil 1 +
2. voice coil 1 - to voice coil 2 +
3. voice coil 2 - to amp -

i hope this ^^ makes sense, and doesn't catch my truck on fire or anything, lol.

damn my dumb ***..... not only that... that wiring he is running will result in 1 ohm... no way that amp will run that..


what you need to do is hook up the + channel to + coil and same for - on the same coil.... then wire your - + together on the other coil

sorry i have a problem with not reading everything in a post... im a "skimmer"

im surprised i havent messed that amp up by running around so long with it like this!

hence the two warrantied amps
jfwy!




that fosgate diagram could be really handy!

yeah ive ran many amps past the ohms they were designed for but that stress can only go on for so long

ok i rewired my sub to run in series, then i put it all back in and tried it out and............nothing! lol

it sucked

i took it back out and found a voice coil wire had broke off of the terminal, i rigged it back up, and it works now

it's 1,000,000x better than before when it was running at 2 ohms! lol
