I was just wondering what brand of speaker people prefer. I am wanting to know about highs/mids not subs...

I would have to say alpine. I've always liked their stuff. Enough to put them all around in the boat even.

Depending on budget, Hertz Audio and JL audio and MB quart. not sure if they are still good or not,havent used them in a long time

Diamond Audio or Focal mids and highs.
You want the best get Rainbow there about $1500-$2000 at set, but come with a nice wooden box.

I've never even heard of those, but wow. For that price you could pay ZZ top to do a ride along.

Focal.

It's been a while but my old truck I installed Focal kevlar mids and man they could really maintain acoustic integrety at any volume for ~$700/pr with separates.

Go to a high-end audio store and bring a CD of your favorite music and just listen to the differences between the choices in your budget.

focal...more specific, the k2ps for a price/quality stand point
