for the price alpine type r 6.5" components and type r 6X9's. get yourself a 35-75watt rms 4 channel amp and run them off of that. not too expensive and it will sound like a freakin concert in there.

I like rockford fosgate. I've had pioneer, rockford, boston accoustics, and kenwood. My truck is gonna be getting a jl audio component set for the front door and some jl's for the back doors and a rockford p3 slim 10".

Well i think i have narrowed down my search. I went to Car-Toys (gay place to say the least) and i heard some Focal 165VBs, MAN THEY SOUNDED GOOD!!! so they are on my list. I really wanted to hear some Alpine Type-X speakers but that store was gay and did not have any.... the Focals and Alpines i am looking at have alot of good reviews, mainly the tweeter not being tooooo harsh and with decent mid-bass. so my short list below...
Alpines

or
Alpine SPX-17PRO
Type-X Pro Series 6-3/4" component speaker system
Focals

or
Focal Polyglass 165 VB

Ya, when i was at car-toys they cranked up the focals LOUD! they had zero distortion crystal clear sound... Eventually i had to tell the sales guy to turn it down... they actually had some really good midbass. The installer guy came in and showed me the various settings on the crossovers for the tweets... IMO the tweets turned down sounded best...
