Default why can't i get power to my e-cutout?

I just had my dmh installed yesterday, and plugged it in today and ran the wires to the dash. Connected the 1 positive wire from the harness to the orange switched 12v source in the ignition harness inside the steering wheel, and grounded the 1 black wire to a nut on metal bracket... why no power

Get power from the fusebox on the driverside of the dash adjacent to the door. You can buy a fuse adapter that plugs in and has a wire you can splice to your cutout power wire.

If for some reason that bracket has paint on it you will need to scratch the paint or better yet find a bolt that connects/runs too the frame.
