Default Wiring questions

Alright, I have a 2006 ext chevy and I am going to install a system I had in one of my old trucks. I will be installing my amps behind the back seat and I am planning on running a Kenwood 960 Watt amp (2channel for my sub) and an older Alpine 5 channel for my speakers I am only planning to use 4 channels so I wont be using the sub line out. When I had it in my old truck I had some pretty thick wire and no capacitor and when the kenwood got hot it would shut down. I am thinking about running an 8 gauge wire and running a capacitor behind the seat with the amps. I will be running a probox loaded enclosure with a solo 10 runs 750 watts rms so my kenwood should be plenty of power.
My question is this, should I run the subs on the capacitor and run a separate wire for the 5 channel, or can I run both amps on the capacitor?

Ditch the capacitor and get a good battery, like mentioned. Also upgrade your big 3. You shouldnt have any need for a cap or extra battery with wat you're running. I would check the impedence on the sub you're running to see if they're below what that amp is stable to because the amp shouldn't have any reason to be shutting off unless you're having serious voltage drop.

Sorry for not responding, been a long week at work. I am running an Optima Red top right now and I just upgraded the alternator (160 Watt). I was looking at a capacitor for a couple of reasons, first is that on both of my previous trucks when the sub would start hitting I could see the headlights and gauge light dimming on each thump (however I was not running optima's in those trucks). The other reason is because I am already running 55 watt HID's and I am planning on adding 2 KC Highlighties to the mix. I will eventually be running LEDS all the way around the truck for my main lights (ie running lights, turn signals, reverse etc.). The leds will only help the situation but the KC's and HID's cant help.
Would I still be better just running 4+ gauge wire? I was looking at 8 ga cause I already have a spool but if need be I will buy something diff. Also Would I be better off running a separate wire for each amp or just running one wire and a power block?
