Installing 06 Chevy E-fans on a 01 Chevy

Thanks again, I appreciate it!
I looked up PCM of NC and it does look like they use some sort of patch for their harness since it has the circuit board built in. Eventually I may buy their harness or inquire as to if they sell the sub harness part separately for those of us who are looking for the more stock look since i am running the OEM fuse block and cover. Thanks again for all of your help, did not think it would become this involved

I also saw in your other post you were using that same harness from PCM of NC and had the OS issue, but their site says you do not have to do an OS swap. I think I’m going to call them Monday and explain the situation to them and see what they think

For now I am going to go with a standalone fan controller and will just either purchase HP Tuners or EFI Live myself at some point so i do not have to keep mailing my PCM back and forth.
Does anyone know the difference between the 2 fan and Aux fan settings? I found a post where someone was using the same OS as me and said they used AUX fans and it worked. I just am not sure exactly what is different between the two and I have not found anything using google or looking in forums. Thanks!

@1FastBrick Out of curiosity (because i am stubborn and do not want to settle for a standalone fan controller) i was playing around in hp tuners looking at one of the tunes with OS 12212156 and i put in the VIN for my 2001 suburban for the vin change and it accepted it. While i do not have hp tuners (yet) i am thinking that it is a good sign that i can upgrade the OS and retain my VIN without issue. Does that sound about right? As i put in the VIN for my 2004 and it said VIN/OS mismatch and would not allow it to commit. If that means it will work that gives me hope!

so I upgraded my OS and get the same results of pin 42 grounding as soon as the key is forward. You wouldn’t happen to have a screen shot of the settings you have for the fan control would you? I am wondering if I need to adjust my pressures or if there is something else causing pin 42 to trigger so quickly

I did the LQ9 engine/trans swap, E- Fan and Radiator from an 05 donor truck. I also built the base tune.
The truck was a 99 and I used the PCM of NC Fan Harness.
I tried several operating systems until I used the specific 12212156 OS

Thanks so much! Got 12212156 OS installed and was able to use my VIN without issue. The fans come on when the temp and they come on with the A/C as well! Cannot thank you enough for all of your help!
